What is a Telcotel SIM?

A Telcotel SIM is a mobile phone SIM card that could be used on a mobile phone in Sri Lanka connected to your choice of Service Providers - Dialog, Tigo or Airtel. The Mobile phone has a Melbourne city land line number. You only pay for a call to the Melbourne number and you will be contected to the mobile in Sri Lanka. If you live outside Melbourne, contact us for more options.

It is very important that you check with your friends/family in Sri Lanka regarding the availability and quality of Airtel service before you decide on the Airtel option

What it will cost to call

The Mobile phone is given a Melbourne Phone number and your phone service provider will bill you for the cost of a call to the Melboune Land Line. If you live anywhere else in Australia, there are other options to consider. Contact us for more information.

Important information

One month refundable deposit (refundable only after 3 weeks) is charged initially.

Monthly rental is charged between the 1st and 5th of the month. If the credit card transaction is declined or you do not make payment, there will be a late payment fee. After 3 weeks, the service will be disconnected and a reconnection fee will be charged.

You will need to purchase a mobile phone in Sri Lanka.

The SIM will be delivered registered post to Sri Lanka address. You can opt to have it hand delivered for an additional cost.

All payments must be made in Australia. Your credit card can be charged automatically.

The SIM is owned by Telcotel. To give up the service, you need to return the SIM to the Telcotel office in Sri Lanka.

If you want to disconnect the service, you need to deliver the SIM card to the Sri Lanka office before the 25th of the month not to be charged the following months rental.

You will be charged for all calls taken from the mobile phone at the service provider rates plus a service charge of 10%. Dialog and Tigo have some number of free minutes.
